All criminal proceedings in the Bailiwick of Guernsey are brought in the name of the Law Officers of the Crown. The Code explains the general principles that are applied when making decisions to prosecute.

The Decision to Prosecute - Supplemental Code of Guidance - Domestic Violence

This guidance is issued by the Law Officers of the Crown as a supplement to The Decision to Prosecute - Code of Guidance document and does not modify or amend it. Instead, it offers more specific guidance as to how the Code might be applied in relation to allegations of domestic violence.

The purpose is to ensure consistency of approach when applying the evidential and public interest tests in relation to allegations of domestic violence.

The Decision to Prosecute - Supplemental Guidance - Tipping Off

This guidance is issued by the Law Officers of the Crown as a supplement to The Decision to Prosecute - Code of Guidance document and does not modify or amend it.  Instead, it offers specific guidance on the approach that would be taken when considering whether or not to prosecute a tipping off offence under the Bailiwick's legislation for dealing with money laundering and terrorist financing.

The Decision to Prosecute - Supplemental Guidance - Cannabis cultivation etc.

This guidance is issued by the Law Officers of the Crown as a supplement to The Decision to Prosecute - Code of Guidance document and does not modify or amend it.  Instead, it offers specific guidance on the approach that would be taken when considering whether or not to prosecute a money laundering offence in relation to the proceeds of the cultivation or production of cannabis in another jurisdiction.
